UNDP’s Impact Investing Workshop
What does it take to secure the future? The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) aim to catalyze positive, sustainable change by focussing on key strategic areas – including poverty alleviation, democratic governance and peacebuilding, climate change and disaster risk, and economic inequality. This workshop shall provide a firsthand account of the pioneering work being done by UNDP to ensure that we leave behind a better Earth for the generations to follow. Also, how can we as individuals be stakeholders in this massive movement? What’s in it for us? The workshop shall consist of the following principal components:
- Approaches to financing the SDGs
- Innovative financing mechanisms and the role of impact investing
- SDG Impact: a UNDP – Impact Management Project collaborative effort
- Role of partnerships & UNDP’s work in the Asia-Pacific
Karanraj Chaudri is the Advisor, Social Impact Investments for the United Nations Development Programme. He focuses on developing blended finance solutions and forging strategic partnerships to direct investment capital in pursuit of improved social and developmental outcomes. As part of his role, he supports UNDP’s work on innovative financing in India and the broader Asia-Pacific region. Previously, Karanraj worked with the Acumen Fund, a leading international venture philanthropy that leverages entrepreneurial solutions to address poverty and PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he focused on Corporate Finance. He studied management and finance, at King’s College London and Oxford University.
