IIM Bangalore’s International business summit Vista 2020, in association with the Public Policy Club of IIMB, presents Nirmaan – Policy Challenge for Self-Reliant India”.

“Nirmaan – Policy Challenge for Self-Reliant India” is aimed at forming creative and effective solutions to strengthen the domestic industries and make them competitive at the global scale. It aims to encourage young minds to come up with innovative policy solutions and contribute to the debate of “Atma Nirbhar Bharat”. Participants are expected to deliver the most realistic and effective policy solutions and show the methods and impact of implementation for any existing/new industry of their choice.

It will be an excellent opportunity for participants to get hands-on experience on policymaking and implementation and help them sharpen their public policy knowledge as they present it before accomplished judges with a rich experience in this domain.

Round 1: Policy Brief – Rethink Industry Overview
Prepare an industry analysis (Max. 2-page PDF document) The objective to focus on past and present industry dynamics, competitive positioning of industry, merits and demerits of investment, and investment structure. Quantitative analysis is not necessary for Round 1. PDF is to be uploaded on D2C.

Round 2: Policy Presentation – Retool
Shortlisted participants get an opportunity to present their policy making and implementation skills to a panel of accomplished judges in the public policy domain. Individuals/Teams will present their ideas (presentation of max. 10 slides) detailing the policy, action plan and the way forward.

  1. Participants are at liberty to choose any existing/non-existing industry in the Indian context.
  2. You can participate individually or in a team of maximum 2.
  3. Each team can choose only one industry for analysis and the same should be presented in both Round 1 and Round 2.
  4. The competition shall be conducted in two rounds:
    • Policy Brief Submission
    • Final Presentation to judges on the event day
  5. Selected teams for the final round will be informed through mail. Only selected participants will get the opportunity to make the presentation before the judges.
  6. There is no participation fee.
  7. An institute can have any number of teams participating. However, if a team member is found participating as a part of more than one team, all such teams shall be disqualified.
  8. Any kind of plagiarism will lead to your disqualification.
  9. All rounds will be conducted online.
  10. e-Certifications will be awarded to all final teams reaching round 2.
