Team Vista presents to you “Deal Pro”. Hone your finance skills, use your business acumen to develop a private equity investment thesis and become a pro!! The event provides an opportunity to put yourselves in the shoes of a Private Equity manager looking for investments. Awaken the finance wiz in you, project some numbers and make some money! Prizes worth Rs. 30K up for grabs!!!

Event Description

Each team must pick only ONE of the following six listed firms for the pitch (same company needs to
be picked for Round 1 and Round 2):

Adherence to one of the six options is mandatory. Any other firm if used for the pitch will lead to
disqualification.

Event Format

Round 1 (Off-campus Round)

A 2-pager A4 document (max. limit) focusing on past and present industry dynamics, competitive positioning of firm, merits and demerits of investment, and investment structure. Quantitative analysis is not necessary for Round 1.

Do note that any analysis should be solely limited to the Indian market.

Round 2 (Campus Round – To be held at IIM Bangalore)

A 10-slider PPT (excluding cover page & table of contents; including appendix) including but not limited to analysis for Round 1, proposed transaction details (valuation and deal financing), and potential growth opportunities (top-line, bottom-line).

Do note that any analysis should be solely limited to the Indian market.

    • Industry / Competitor Benchmarking (e.g., sales, market share, etc.)
    • Potential Value Capture Opportunities (e.g., product prioritization, market diversification / expansion, etc.)
      • Although not mandatory, it is recommended to quantify the opportunity and reflect the same in financial projections (impact on sales as well as expenses)
    • Bottom-Line Overview (internal landscape)
      • Company Overview
      • Operating Model and Processes
      • Industry / Competitor Benchmarking (e.g., revenue per employee, Expenses as percentage of sales, profit margin, etc.)
      • Potential Value Capture Opportunities (e.g., organizational rationalization, outsourcing non-core activities, process automation, etc.)
        • Although not mandatory, it is recommended to quantify the opportunity and reflect the same n financial projections

Please carefully annotate all references and sources in the presentation. Although not mandatory, a working excel model for the analysis may come handy during Q&A with the judges.

Prizes worth Rs. 30000

  1. Registrations open: 23 rdJune 2019; registrations close: 10thJuly 2019
  2. This is a team event, with each team consisting of minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 participants, all of whom must be enrolled in a graduate or a post graduate program at the time of the submission. 
  3. Members of the team should be from the same institutes. Multiple teams from the same college are allowed.
  4. All participants must be registered for the event on the IIMB Vista website. Any team which does not register for the event on Vista website will be disqualified.
  5. Only the first submissions made by teams before the deadlines will be used.
  6. Participants have to travel to campus for the final on campus rounds subject to their selection.
  7. The participants must carefully read through and agree to the following Terms & Conditions: All decisions in matters of eligibility, authenticity and final judgments will be with the organizing committee of Vista, Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. The format and structure of events on campus could be subject to change before the actual beginning of the event.
