Good ideas come in many shapes and sizes and are designed to improve the quality of life. They may involve technological, institutional or managerial reforms and the involvement of citizens. The choice of solution is only smart if it is right-sized to the challenge it aims to address; bigger isn’t necessarily better.

“With its collaborative and focused approach, India is capable enough of achieving its ambitious plan of 100 Smart City goal but for such ambitions, it is very crucial than ever for India to stay realistic and focused.”

Smart solutions are those realistic ideas that impact and strengthen the city’s governance or its physical, social, or economic infrastructure. India's indisputable strength in software development, if exploited properly, can help build citizen-centric Smart Cities.

Identify specific, smart, technologically rich ideas that will empower citizens to not only co-create the new cities, transform the existing ones but also demand better governance, reliable and high-quality public utilities and services.

AND

Recommend a robust and practical methodology to establish an ecosystem that will become the breeding ground for developing innovative and integrated system not only for India but also for export to the outside world.
