What is a B-fest without a few rounds of good old quizzing? Bizarre offers the quiz relief during Vista. This high-octane event has a round of elimination followed by the finals in which 6 teams slog it out to reach the zenith of the podium. Being the final event on the final day of Vista 2008, it’s bound to be a fitting grand finale to the proceedings. The edition of 2007 saw the event being hosted by the suave cricket commentator (and among the most famous alumni of the IIMs) Harsha Bhogle. This year, the show will be run by Barry O’Brien – the youngest member of the most famous quizzing family in the country. This quiz has open to all quizzers, both college and corporate!

Educationist, author, quizmaster, motivational speaker, social activist, social worker - Barry O'Brien somehow finds the time to be all this and more. He is an educationist whose classroom is the length and breadth of India. He started his career as a journalist with the ABP group (the leading Newspaper group of eastern India), teaching part time in schools. He then joined South Point High School in Kolkata and went on to play a key role in its many successes.

He has co-authored Find Out, published by Oxford University Press, the largest selling General Knowledge series prescribed in over 700 schools across India. Recently, he has co-authored Get Set Go, also published by Oxford University Press - it is a General Awareness and Life Skills series for school students.  He is the force behind The Telegraph in Schools, a weekly newspaper that won the Best Paper for Young People, awarded by the World Association of Newspapers, based in Paris.
Two years ago, he was nominated by the Governor of West Bengal to the West Bengal Legislative Assembly to represent the Anglo-Indian Community.

All this sit lightly on his head, as he continues to be the simple, down-to-earth, caring Calcuttan who touches lives in a special way, particularly through his efforts to raise funds for educational scholarships for the children of farmers, daily wage labourers and the poorest of the poor.

Last, but not the least, he is one of the country's leading quizmasters doing quizzes all over the country for schools, colleges and the corporate sector for the last 24 years. He has conducted over 2500 live quizzes in India, the Middle East, Nepal and Pakistan. He has also conducted the National Parliamentary Quiz organised by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs on DD1 and the Green Teen quiz on DD2 which ran for 2 years. He has hosted popular syllabus oriented bilingual quizzes for Zee Alpha TV channel & Aakash Bangla. He is currently conducting Buzz With Barry, a quiz show for south Asian countries, on TVSouth Asia.

However, his forte still is conducting a lively, informative and thoroughly enjoyable live quiz on stage in front of a big audience. He has enthralled quizzing crowds from Pilani to Patna and Powai, Kathmandu to Kharagpur and Karachi, Dubai to Delhi and down South!

Barry O'Brien is also one of the country's most sought after Master of Ceremonies. He is friendly, full of warmth, and has a sense of humour that truly sets him apart. He is as comfortable sharing the stage with Shah Rukh Khan and Sonia Gandhi, as he is with a bevy of beauty contest partipitants and special children who are fighting the odds.
